Hi there! I’m Arushi, a thirty-something travel enthusiast from Delhi who balances a passion for adventure with a career in tech. By day, I’m a software developer, crafting lines of code to solve problems and create solutions. But as soon as I close my laptop, my mind drifts to travel plans, treks, and the next adventure waiting to unfold.

For a long time, I didn’t even realise how much I loved travelling. That all changed when I was 20, and I went on a six day snow trek with friends. What started as a simple vacation turned into a life-changing experience. During that trek, I discovered my passion for exploring new places, embracing adventures, and soaking in the beauty of the world around me. Ever since then, there’s been no turning back. It has been 10 incredible years juggling my tech career with my wanderlust and gathering countless beautiful experiences along the way.

Travelling has shaped me into the person I am today. Back then, I was an under confident introvert, unsure of how to navigate life’s challenges. But everything changed on that first snow trek—it was like my inner Naina (from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) discovering the hidden Bunny within. Travelling taught me resilience, humility, and the confidence to handle tough situations. Meeting new people, adapting to unfamiliar cultures, and facing unexpected hurdles during my journeys have transformed me. Today, I am no longer a person who is meek and afraid of questioning the world. Instead, I embrace conversations, new experiences, and challenges with open arms and a confident spirit.

I am always fascinated by the idea of exploring new places, meeting different people, and immersing myself in diverse cultures. One of my favourite things to do while travelling is to try local foods—there’s no better way to experience a place than through its flavours!
So far, my adventures have taken me across most parts of India and to several other countries. But my adventure streak doesn’t let me sit still; there’s always another destination calling my name!
My Other Interests
Beyond my love for exploring cities and their culinary delights, I’m also passionate about biking and trekking. There’s something incredibly liberating about hitting the road on a bike or embarking on long, multi-day high-altitude treks. The serenity of the mountains and the wilderness has always been my escape from the chaos of city life. I’ve even had the privilege of leading trekking groups in the Himalayas twice—an experience that remains one of the highlights of my travel journey.

Another passion of mine is photography. I love capturing the beauty of nature through my lens, whether it’s a breathtaking mountain view, a serene lake, or the vibrant colours of a sunset. Photography allows me to relive those magical moments and share them with others.
Why I Started This Blog
Travel isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a passion. And over time, I’ve realised how much I enjoy sharing my travel experiences and tips with others. Whenever I meet fellow travellers, I notice how much we all rely on the internet for exploring new places. That’s what inspired me to create this space—a blog where I can inspire and help others plan their adventures.
But there’s a deeper reason that sparked this blog’s journey. As I travelled and met people from around the world, I discovered something that left me surprised and saddened. Many people despise Delhi. Being a proud Delhite, it was disheartening to see how the city’s dark side, often magnified by media, shaped people’s opinions.
I wanted to change that narrative. I wanted to show people the real Delhi—a city brimming with culture, history, vibrancy, and charm. Through this blog, I aim to bring you extensive, honest, and insightful articles about Delhi, hoping to help you see the city as I do: a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be explored.
Why the Name “Albatross Trails”?
The albatross is a majestic bird known for its incredible ability to travel long distances across oceans, often symbolising freedom and endurance. I felt this resonated deeply with my love for travel and exploration.
“Trails” represents the paths I’ve walked and the ones I am yet to discover. Together, “Albatross Trails” reflects my journey—soaring to new heights, exploring unseen paths, and leaving behind a trail of stories and experiences.
So, join me on this adventure as we uncover not just Delhi but also stories of travel, culture, and everything in between.
